Quirky and cool or old and stale; you decide.

If new, modern, and expensive is not your bag, then you may be a candidate for the old and unconventional. Not your typical beige box, Old Colonial is a cool old work horse of a girl. I love the period elements and the funky interior courtyard that serves as the front yard for a few lucky homeowners. This building isn’t for everyone but then neither is Escala.

I'm Going to be Honest

I'm going to be honest, this building gave me a weird vibe. Maybe it's the stillness of the building, or the fact that the hallway at the entrance is a little dim. If you like a very quiet and secluded atmosphere, this building is probably for you. What's interesting is that there are windows in the common area outside your unit, so it actually feels like you're outside and about to enter a home. Some owners even have plants and welcome mats outside, which adds to this feeling.

I previewed two units, and they were very unique. They both have exposed brick walls and large windows pouring in light, and they both have that old Seattle appearance to them.

Pluses are location, proximity to Post Alley restaurants such as sushi, Mexican, a gourmet deli, and Tully's. The Seattle Art Museum is also located across the street.
